Code of Conduct

•    Viddiction is proud to be a community-oriented media sharing site. In the interest of providing the most enjoyment to a wide audience, we ask that you adhere to the following rules regarding submission of material and conduct in the public forums:

o    ABSOLUTELY no pornographic or explicitly violent material. All material that you, the user, consider to be inappropriate for a general audience (anything that would exceed a pg-13 rating, for example) should be uploaded into our UNCENSORED video library. However, no area of the Viddiction library will accept, or retain any material featuring full frontal nudity or graphic violence. This is not Faces of Death, so please do not treat it as such.

Popularity Point Competitions

*    This is our way of giving back to those who give to us. It's your chance to profit from the success of your creations. However, there are certain things you should remember when participating--and yes, all of them are completely obvious so we apologize in advance for insulting your intelligence.

1.)    When promoting, do NOT spam. You can send alerts and emails to your friends, your loved ones, your classmates or just those casual acquintences you met on the street; you can post links to your videos in relevant forums where such posting is allowed, post to your blogs or Facebook or Myspace; you can start your own site just to promote your Viddiction videos, hell, you can scream the URL from the rooftops (just not in such a way that will earn you, or us the ire of old ladies everywhere), but you CANNOT spam. Spamming, in case you didn't know, is defined as sending unsolicited emails to people who do not know you, who did not ask for or are not expecting a message from you, especially if its from fraudulent accounts!

2.)     Do not bother repeat clicking to boost your or anybody else's Popularity Point standing. Sure, you might be compelled to view an especially infectious video more than once, but our system is set up to never register more than one Popularity Point, for any given video, from any unique IP address, so clicking like a Mini Gun will not help you earn money. If unnatural or hacked repeat clicking is registered, and traced to a single IP address, the video on the recieving end of those clicks will be deleted immediately, without prior warning... The moral of this story is that If you want to earn cash, promote promote promote. You'll get more clicks and make more friends.

o    We are very weary of Copyright laws and ask that you do not post material to which you do not own the rights, or permission from the party that does own the rights. We like original material; material that is the product of YOUR imagination. To be safe, post only those clips that you can claim as your own. THIS IS ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT IN OUR MONTHLY POPULARITY POINT COMPETITIONS. POPULARITY POINTS DERIVED FROM MATERIAL SUBMITTED THAT IS SUSPECTED TO BE COPIED OR STOLEN FROM SOURCES OTHER THAN THE USER WILL NOT BE COUNTED TOWARDS YOUR MONTHLY POPULARITY POINT TOTAL!!

o    Please be civil in our forums. No profanity or threatening language. We are all friends here, and even if disagreements occur, find a way to settle them like human beings. There is enough violence in the world already and we do not need it spilling into this community

o    Above all, please treat and respect this community and those within as you would something that belongs to you—because Viddiction is very much a product of its users. Report abuse, and be vigilant so that we can maintain the best possible environment for everyone.
